4 Kitchen Pantry Foods Guaranteed To Boost Your Beauty Routine
If you’ve been following me on social media, you know that I’ve been taking some time away to focus on what’s most important to me. Well along with my family, my wellness is at the top of that list!
During my down time, I was able to really dive into my self care routine and I got to do some of the things that usually take a back seat. Yep! A bit of R&R and now I’m feeling fresh and renewed! The best part is that my version of R&R is just as affordable as it is edible (can you believe there’s a moisturizer that retails for $2400?!). Listen, if your purse gives you the green light to drop those kinds of coins, more power to you, but today we’re going the budget friendly route. Take a sip of my Tropical Carrot Smoothie for glowing skin and then take a look around your kitchen, because you’ve got everything you need to feed your body and your soul!
Coffee Grounds – Body Exfoliant
Don’t throw those used coffee grounds in the trash! Coffee grounds are a great body exfoliant guaranteed to having you feeling woke and revived in minutes. Mix a half cup of coffee grounds with a half cup of coconut oil into a paste and apply directly to your skin. I like to give extra attention to my legs and feet with this one since it removes any dry skin while moisturizing any rough patches. Wipe off excess before your bath or shower.
Coconut Oil – Make Up Remover
Believe it or not but rinsing your face with soap won’t fully remove the amazing beat of makeup that had you slaying the whole day long. Make up wipes can surely do some of the work for you, but they can leave behind make up residue. So for a clean face that’s oh so baby soft – I apply coconut oil to my face before washing and give it a good wipe with cotton balls. This oil really works well for stubborn eye makeup (avoid getting oil into your eyes by wiping it off with a dry cotton ball before opening your eyes). With your face makeup free, you’re all set for cleansing with your favorite face cleanser and you’ll have a moisturizing barrier from the oil that prevents your face from drying out from using soap alone.
Pink Himalayan Salt – Foot Soak
After a long day on your feet, or a short trip in a cute pair of heels that were a bit too snug – give your tootsies some TLC! Toss a couple scoops of Pink Himalayan salt in a foot bath and soak your aches away.
Greek Yogurt – Skin Reliever
Need a break from the sun, acne or itchy bug bites? Then Greek yogurt should be your skin’s new best friend! Okay, this one is in the fridge, but did you know that the lactic acid in this tasty snack tightens your skin, is great for anti-aging and provides instant relief from mild skin irritations? Sasha and I got our yogurt beauty mask on with this beauty booster – although she did more licking fingers and eating than anything. I was there for the anti-aging and the giggles – oh to be 3 years old again!
Apple Cider Vinegar – Facial Toner
While we’re on the topic of beautiful skin, I also use apple cider vinegar (ACV) as a facial toner! ACV can be used for so many different things, especially when it comes to self care and beauty. If you don’t know about ACV, you gotta check out my latest YouTube video!
