Deep Fried Cajun Turkey Wings

These wings are a definite touchdown on gameday! Show your turkey wings a little love by spicing them up and deep frying them for the perfectly cooked wing; crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Here is a little tip: for larger wings, pierce the skin to ensure wings cooked throughout.

 Cajun Spice Mix:
 2 tbsp paprika
 2 tbsp garlic powder
 2 tbsp kosher salt
 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
 1 tbsp chili powder
 1 tbsp onion powder
 1 tbsp coarse ground black pepper
 5 lbs turkey wings, tips removed
 vegetable oil for frying

Mix spices together in a small bowl. Season both sides of wings and refrigerate for 4-6 hours

Using a home deep fryer or large sauce pot, heat oil to 350 ˚F. Place wings in hot oil and fry for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cooked throughout at an internal temperature of 165˚F. Careful not to overcrowd fryer.

Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.

    hello,

    i really want to try this recipe tonight. did you use flour to fry your turkey wings before you friend them.

      No flour in this recipe. These wings cook longer than chicken and any breading like flour will burn before turkey wing is done inside. Fry them “naked”!
